The entity defined as event encompasses a comprehensive range of actions and occurrences that may be the subject of a work: historical events, epochs, periods of time, etc. For the purposes of this model events are treated as entities only to the extent that they are the subject of a work (e.g., the subject of an historical treatise, of a painting, etc.).
