Chinese Couplets and Short Classical Literature Works' Metadata is constructed to describe history formed couplets resources fixed on ancient constructions. Further, as a result of the couplet entity resource is the carrier of the text at the same time, this metadata standard could explore the organic combination among a work, its digital agency and its literature content, and its application can be extended to all kinds of cultural relics carrying classical literature, especially calligraphy works.
The elements are composed of three parts. The overall framework, syntax and most elements are inherited from VRA Core 4.0, and a small part is inherited from CDWA. There are special description items of classical literature such as rhetorics and classifications, which are newly added according to the characteristics of the couplet resources. The element is a two-tier hierarchical structure.
